Sand Pump Coupling Materials

Sand pump coupling is the important part connecting the pump with the driven motor or diesel engine. Slurry pump coupling is commonly made with HT200, ZG230-450 or 45# steel. If the dredger sand pump is use HT200 material , the coupling can also be made with QT500-7 material.

1. Comparison of the corresponding mechanical properties, for generally slurry pump ,It is just difficult to master the spheroidization of ductile iron, the quality of the ductile iron is no problem.
2. QT material can be used as a coupling of the sand pump, as QT material contains more graphite, so its lubrication is better. QT material is more convenient than cast steel material when used as coupling during the demolition.
3. Now cast iron material is seldom used for coupling, because it’s cold and brittle properties is too strong.
4. Sometimes, coupling will choose 45# steel, but high quality nodular cast iron cloud instead of steel material parts. Some customers will ask for nodular cast iron material as dredger pump coupling under the circumstances of impact loading .
